LET'S GET WILD TOUR

In conjunction with your visit to the Greater Niagara Region, come experience the "Wild Side!" Bring your bicycle or canoe to Medina for an Erie Canal Trek. Begin a bike trek at the Canal Marine Park and work your way to Main Street north and cross the bridge over the canal. From the bridge you'll spot the "Big Apple" and the towpath below on the north side of the canal. Going east you'll view the Medina Falls. To the west is an interpretive exhibit at the lift bridge and then lush farmland. Launch your canoe trek at the Canal Marine Park docks for a waterside view of "Clinton's Ditch."

Then head south on Route 63 to the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge, which includes over 10,000 acres of wooded swamp, marshland, and meadow. Tour the headquarters lodge or enjoy the beauty of nature when you walk through structured trails and spot Canada Geese, bald eagles, deer, and fox.

Depart Iroquois and head south on Route 63 to Route 77 to Six Flags Darien Lake for an afternoon of untamed excitement at New York's only Six Flags! Six Flags features over 100 rides, shows and attractions, plus convenient camping and deluxe lodge accommodations. For supercharged excitement, try the Superman-Ride of Steel coaster, one of the tallest and longest in North America!

After a night of camping under the stars or resting in a comfortable hotel, begin day two by heading south on Route 77. Turn left on 20A, right on Route 19, left on 19A south, and enter Letchworth State Park via the Castile Park entrance. View the spectacular gorge, visit the Middle Falls, hike the marked trails, or stroll through Letchworth Museum. For a more adventurous visit, try whitewater rafting, or hot air ballooning! Horseback riding is also available as a terrific way to enjoy the "Grand Canyon of the East." Try the elegant Glen Iris Inn and enjoy a stunning view along with your dinner.

Depart Letchworth Park and retrace your steps. Turn right on Route 19A through historic Warsaw, and continue on to the Gaslight Village to peruse charming boutiques and inns. Continue north on Route 19 to the quaint LeRoy House Historical Museum and new Jell-O Gallery where you can take an interactive walk through the history of Jell-O. Head west on Route 5 to Batavia and stop at the historic Holland Land Office Museum, the "birthplace" of Western New York, then head north on Route 98 to NYS Thruway.
