WATER FUN TOUR

This tour begins begins with an exciting ride through the fantastic Niagara River Gorge. Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours (located on S. Water St. in Lewiston) will take you on a scenic journey through the gorge right to the Whirlpool area. This one-hour trip will give you a fantastic look at the gorge from a whole new perspective.

Now head to Niagara Falls, where there is absolutely no shortage of water - or water-related fun! Take Robert Moses Parkway and follow signs to Prospect Point. Don a raincoat and take a breathtaking ride on the Maid of the Mist. This 30-minute seasonal boat ride will take you right to the base of the American Falls and into the ring of the Horseshoe Falls. At the Cave of the Winds, venture down a series of wooden walkways leading to the Bridal Veil Falls, where you will be only an arm's length away from the thundering water. Waterproof clothing is provided!

Your next stop is Grand Island to visit Fantasy Island, an 80-acre theme park with over 100 rides and attractions, including a water park and wave pool, petting zoo, Western town, miniature golf, paddle boats, and more. Take Rainbow Boulevard to Robert Moses Parkway, follow signs to I-190 south, exit Whitehaven Road to Fantasy Island. You'll find something for every member of the family to enjoy. If you get hungry, picnic areas and various eateries are available on-site.

Next, take I-190 south to I-90 east, exit 48A for Route 77 south to Six Flags Darien Lake Resort, New York's only Six Flags Theme Park. See Looney Tunes characters strolling the park and several new attractions including Superman - Ride of Steel, a $12 million state-of-the-art mega steel coaster, one of the tallest and longest in North America. New shows, What's Up Rock Show, and Batman/Robin Thrill Show have been added. Visit Looney Tunes Seaport and Hook's Lagoon, a 40,000 sq. ft. water adventure park. Six Flags also features a performing arts center headlined by major national artists, and a 2,000-site campground.

For a real water adventure, try whitewater rafting through the 600-foot gorge at Letchworth State Park. Take 77 south to 20A east to 19 south to 19A south to the Castile entrance of the park. Adventure Calls offers a thrilling 2-hour, six-mile ride through Class I-II rapids. You can enjoy the great outdoors with picturesque scenery, wildlife, and foliage. This is the perfect trip for everyone, including novice rafters.
